Washing machine must be installed level and all four feet
should be in solid contact with the floor.
Positioning the washing machine
You can adjust the feet of the washing machine to
ensure that it is level. A spanner may be required. If the
washing machine is not level the washing machine may suffer
from increased vibrationn and noise. It is worth using a spirit
level on top of the washing machine to check that it is level
before use.
Connecting the waste pipes
The
drain hose is fixed to the back of the washing machine by
one or more clips. The drain hose should be connected to a
placed in
a waste trap like the one on the right. You many need to purchase
a U bend waste pipe with a washing machine adapter. These
are cheap and can be bought online.
The height of stand pipe or sink should be between 60 and
100cm . Please make sure that the waste hose is not obstructed,
twisted or that the end of it is not submerged in water. If
the hose is connected with an airtight joint, provision should
be made to prevent syphonage.
Connecting the inlet pipes
If possible you should connect both hot and cold inlet pipes
to hot and cold water. It is cheaper for your central heating
system to heat the water than for a washing machine.
The
hose having the red end fitting should be connected between
the hot supply and the threaded connection adjacent to the
let ter
H on the rear of the machine.
The hose having the white end fitting should be connected
between the cold supply and the threaded connection adjacent
to the letter C on the rear of the machine.
Remember to insert a sealing washer at each connection to
ensure watertight joints. Make sure you do not overtighten
the connections - hand tight is sufficient to prevent leaks.
When connecting the washing machine to copper pipes its worth
putting a washing machine valve on the end so you have a way
of stopping the water supply if something goes wrong with
your washing machine.
